Why is it hard to breathe?

Yesterday I went to take a deep inhale and felt a sharp pain in my upper, middle back. I didn't think much of it, so I decided I just wouldn't take any deep breathes. Today I can't even sniffle (I have bad allergies) without feeling the pain. Any form of semi-deep breathe causes the pain.

I was around smokers my whole sixteen years  (yes, I'm only sixteen) and even went through my own two year of occasionally smoking. That started with having two a week, to one or two a month, to one every couple of months, and then when my grandad died of lung cancer a month that ago I completely stopped.

I'm scared and not sure what to do. Please help me.

Hello~It sounds to me like you have some misplaced vertebrae in your back, this is causing the pain as you take a deep breath.

I suggest seeing a chiropractor, he/she will take an x-ray of the area and be able to determine what spots need the attention, after a few treatments, you should feel better.

I have had this pain before when I took deep breaths and the chiropractor helped me.

Hope you feel better soon.
