abnormal non-menstrual bleeding, possibly cervical cancer??

Let me give some background info first. A few years ago(about 3 1/2-4) I was diagnosed with HPV and underwent a LEEP procedure shortly after. I went through two more abnormal pap smears, but have been unable to return to a doctor since. I recently have acquired some frightening symptoms, including bleeding between periods, starting heavy and getting lighter for about three days (for this and last month). These last two periods have also been shorter. There was one a few months ago that was VERY painful, which is not common for me at all. Also, I've recently started having nightsweats, and bleeding after intercourse. I've been reading and it seems a lot like progressed cervical cancer and I'm kind of freaking out. Is this what it sounds like? Or could these symptoms be indicative of a non-cancerous condition? I plan on going to a doctor as soon as possible, but it would help to find other things to give my mind a rest off of cancer. Thank you, in advance, for any advice or help you can offer.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
You are right about your friend needing to consult a gynecologist ASAP. Maybe reading this will help. The top 10 causes for vaginal bleeding after sex are cervical dysplasia which is a precancerous condition, STDs like Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis, cervical polyps, yeast infections, endometriosis, uterine polyps, uterine fibroids and cervicitis. None of them are conditions that should be ignored.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
The most common cause of blood in urine is UTI. The next possible diagnosis is stone. The stone can be anywhere in the urinary system from kidney to urethra. Cancers of urinary system or some drugs too cause blood in urine. Bladder infections and cysts too can cause similar symptoms. Since you are not expecting your period, chances of endometriosis are less. Your urologist will run a couple of more tests including urine examination, culture, a CT/ultrasound of abdomen to rule out stones and other causes.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I have a very abnormal bleeding. I would go to the washroom to pee and in the pee there would be blood but its in a time when I am not expecting my period. I did remove a cyst a couple years ago and from what I see the scar hasn't opened. I am really concerned and scared can someone please tell me, I know this is not normal but should I be scared.

Thanks

Hi, this is my first time ever on here or even posting so sorry if I don't do it just right.. I am 27 years old and since last October I have had a lot of female problems and they are similar to yours. I had a cycst removed in october and ever since then I have been in a mess, I have not had a period since then and I have painful sex and my stomach hurts alot and I have no idea whats going on, I just finished this one medication that the OBGYN put me on to help me start my period and i have not started it yet so that can't be good and I have been diagonosed with that HPV before (sorry about spelling mine sucks) so now I have to call her and tell her that I didn't start my period and now I think I am going to have to have surgery or something I am so worried that I might have cancer or something like that, she did mention I might have endometriosis (again spelling) but she wasn't sure so I was to take those pills and see if I started my period and now that I didn't I am worried cause thats not a good sign.. Anyway sorry for blabbing but I thought maybe someone might be going though the same thing and all.. Thanks for reading my BOOK, lol  and if anyone had ant comments GOOD or BAD please post me back thank again for all your help

Your symptoms may be caused by cervical cancer, but the same symptoms match many other problems as well. The night sweats, which are a symptom of menopause are also a symptom of hot summer nights.  Perimenopause, sort of like pre-menopause may cause your symptoms, too, including a dry vagina which would cause painful sex. The presence of fibroids (not cancerous) could also be considered. Your symptoms can also be caused by something as simple as a hormone imbalance.  Painful periods and painful sex are not normal in a 25year old woman and should be checked out. Don't panic over cancer. You can get it at any age, but without a heavy family history of cervical cancer, it is unlikely to be the cause of your problems. See the MD or OBGYN and get tested at your earliest opportunity.  Hope this helps
