Bruising, by itself, can be caused by bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, Von Willebrand's disease, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome or immune disorders. However, bruising with bone pain (if those two symptoms are related) could be something more serious (leukemia) or a rare disease. My opinion --- not medical advice: I would follow-up with my physician and especially if I notice any other symptoms and/or call my physician and discuss this with him/her.
P.S. - I would also ask your physician to run a lab test on you (if he/she hasn't already). The name of the lab test is PT/INR.
When I was pregnant with my last son (he was born 6 mnths ago) my ob ran a test on me to try and find out why I had miscarried my lil girl so late in the pregnancy. It came back that I had protien S defiency, protien C defiency, and MTHFR mutation gene. So I had to take a baby aspirin and have shots of Lovenox everyday, along with being closely monitored and went to a specialist. After the pregnacy I got refered to a different specialist. He said it sounded like I had the opp. problem of my blood not clotting as opposed to clotting to easy. He rechecked my blood. One of them was on the borderline, but not enough to worry about and the other was okay.
So, do you know is it possible that since that was pregnancy induced, could my blood not clot when I am not pregnant and clot to easy when I am?
Also if it would be related to my leg pain would a sign of something be always having an elevated wbc count?
I'm not sure. It does sound like they need to run more clotting factor tests on you and find out. It seems to me this is probably the problem and especially if your last lab test was borderline. Also, I've heard many women say that after pregnancy, their immune system is run down.
If you still have a high white cell count, then that is even more reason to follow-up with your physician ASAP. Your physician needs to do a full-work up.
A high white cell count can be due to infections, inflammation disorders, leukemia, cancer, steriod use, collagen vascular disorders and other conditions.
okay hun, thanks for all your help! :)
Good luck ! If I were you, I would be agressive just in case. You shouldn't have a repeatedly high white cell count.
Keep in touch.
I will hun. I will update you on what I find out. Agian thank you so much!
