burning/tingling feet, numbness fingers & toes, pain in neck

Started about 16 years ago, top of my right foot had a burning/tingling sensation.  Went away.  Came back occasionally, maybe 5 times since.  In August I woke up with extreme pain in my right arm, elbow, shoulder blade, wrist.  Saw my chiropractor, sort of helped.  Then my right index finger tip when numb, a week later my left thumb, then the right thumb and left index finger also went numb.  Started having pain in different joints, toes, knees, fingers.  Occasionally have confusion.  A few months ago I started being awaken by vibrating, and smells.  Upon complete waking, smell is gone also vibrating.  Now I vibrate internally anytime, day or night.  Seems to be more pronounced when tired.  My feet feel like they are on fire (the tops)  I have pain in the neck and shoulders.  Also get pins and needles in odd places.  My knee while washing dishes, my lips, arms while writing.  Sometimes my arm will fall asleep when lying on the other arm.  Have been checked for B12, , thyroid, diabetis, all good, have had EMG studies and evoked potentials, all good.  Have just had MRI, no results yet.  My doctor sent me to a neurologist who says I'm fine.  My vibrating and burning feet are getting worse.  Could this be menopause? stress?  Lyme disease? (I was camping and was bitten by something a week before this started in August)  Hope someone out there may have some ideas for me.

Hello,

Numbness and tingling are abnormal sensations that can occur anywhere in your body, but are often felt in your hands, feet, arms, or legs. Many causes of numbness are there. These include injury to the back or spinal cord, Lack of blood supply to the legs as a result of plaque formation in the blood vessels(peripheral artery disease), diabetes, stroke, motor neurone disease, lupus erythematosis, multiple sclerosis and underactive thyroid or parathyroid glands. Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body and a lack of vitamin B12 can also cause tingling in the knee and legs.

Thyroid disease, diabetes and vit B12 deficiency have been ruled out.MRI will help in differentiating the other causes.Menopause can be a possibility for causing such symptoms. It depends on how old are you?peripheral artery disease can be another possibility and you need to get X-ray angiography and magnetic resonance imaging angiography (MRA) done to diagnose it.

Lymes disease has a characteristic red rash on the body after tick bite. However, you can confirm lyme’s disease by blood tests like ELISA.

Pls discuss the above possibilities with your doctor and do keep us posted on how you are doing.
