For the past 4 months I have been chronically bloated and recently, during the past 3 weeks, have had a few cases of flu/food poisoning-like issues. I'm not sure if these two are related, but I have seen a few doctors with no help, and had an ultrasound which came up negative. My menstrual cycle is very irregular (don't get it very often, last menstrual cycle was a month ago) and generally only lasts a few light days.) I have considered the bloating as being caused by anxiety/depression, allergies (gluten?), or something else in the GI category. In the past two years (I am 18 and a freshman in college) my eating habits changed purely out of preference. I started eating more vegetables, less meat, less carbs, ect... I understand that this may have caused some kind of nutritional deficiency ( though i generally ate a well rounded diet; a lot of eggs, smoothies cottage cheese, oatmeal, grains, meat, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, milk, soy milk, ect...) I ate a lot during the school year and was getting a lot of protein but i suppose i ate less during the summer. Once the bloating began (sometime in mid summer) i began to feel fuller faster and eat less in general, which has resulted in a little bit of weight loss. I am not sure if this is related but I have a hard time falling asleep unless I am very tired, and always wake up after too little sleep feeling tired. The bloating is causing a lot of anxiety and very unhealthy, fluctuating eating habits as I never know what or how much to eat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am at a complete loss, and becoming very desperate.
