Hello all concerned re:- accupuncture and post concussion issues:-
I have been a patient of an old chinese doctor in Townsville NQ now on and off as life has dictated to me for over 19 years.
I can clearly state and am in fact living proof that he has totally fixed my knees over a specific treatment period of about 8 -10 weeks in each case, where our Western Doctors only told me, they had to cut, cartilage, tendon ect and that I would not run, jump etc on either knee again, well they were wrong and accupuncture was right :- No Placebo effect there Death Rabbit (FACT) .
AS to Post Concussion Syndrome ?:- Having sustained a serious "hospitalised" concussion incident only 5 days ago / and had my first accupuncture treatment today in fact I'll have to let you guys know.. I can say relief to me neck and upper torso (bruising from the fall 2m backward onto concrete and back of head) if immediately better (No Placebo there either.. Death Rabbit)
I can attest to being certain that your treating Asian Doctor has a history which at least in the main part originates from their old country, I have had brief treatments from their Western counterparts, which infairness were no bad, but quite simply, they did not come close to achieving what my Chinese Doctor in Townsville , NQ, Australia, has consistently managed for me over the past 19 years.

Acupuncture can be helpful. I really don't know why, though suspect its a very big placebo effect. But hey placebo effects are still cures, so what the hell.
There are many things we just don't know out there, especially Chinese medicine that has come down through the Ages. Accupuncture has been around forever and has been hotly argued as to it's benefits. The fact remains that if it never worked on anyone, why is it still around? If you are intent on trying accupuncture, go to someone who is reliable and uses clean needles, not re-sterilized ones. Don't be afraid to ask about the training and where they got it. Ask for and check up on references. Personally, I would go see an oldtimer who has been doing this forever and has a good track record in the community. Expect the treatments to be over time, not just a one-time-thing. Good luck.
