dizziness

Since as long as I can remember I would get dizzy at random moments. Recently though it happens more often and more severe. When it happens I sometimes will fall down and shake. The most severe time was when I got it of bed and looked in my mirror. I started to see stars and fell. I don't remember where I fell, but when I woke up I had pushed my dresser back and knocked all of the stuff off it. The corner have me a big bruise and scratch. The next day I walked out of my living room and I saw stars again. I didn't know if I was going to black out our not, so I layed down and instead of blacking out, I started shaking uncontrollably. I don't know what is wrong with me, please help.

Some other things to think about:
If you are fasting too long it can cause fainting, low blood pressure, if you live in a hot area and get dehydrated. Also, being anemic. As I mentioned low blood sugar and if you stand up too quickly. Another thing you can get checked is you could have an arrhythmia. They do a EKG and if normal they can do a 24 hour monitor. They put a monitor on you and you wear it for 24 hours and then they record what they see and get back to you.  One question for you is when you are shaking are you conscious of it? Do you know when you are having an attack and are shaking? You know when you are going to black out and then you pass out. Do you know how long you are out? It may be due to low blood pressure low sugar or anemia. Maybe you should try to check those first since they are more obvious. If they are normal then do the things I said above. I know it may difficult to get to a regular family practice doctor then go to a neurologist and an ENT in your country. In California it takes4-6 months to get an appointment to see a neurologist too. So, these are some things to discuss with your family.
I hope this helps.

Yes It could also be Meniers Disease but you don't shake usually with that. I have severe vertigo too and that is cause by a migraine. But it doesn't sound like you have vertigo. You have dizziness. You should also check your blood sugar and your blood pressure. Maybe you could get a fasting blood sugar there? and your blood pressure. Don't they have neurologists in Asia? Definitely America has plenty of Neurologists. They also have ENT doctors.  When I got severe vertigo they tested me for both seizure, migraine and hearing.  I already knew I had the migraine variant by the EEG I had. They say I had high brain wave signals. But later when I got the severe vertigo where I was falling I went back to my neurologist and she also sent me to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor or ENT and they checked my hearing for hearing loss, and checking inside the ears and asked if when I got the dizziness or vertigo whether it came on when I moved a certain way or not? Does your come on when you turn your head to the right or left or move a particular direction or lean a particular way? For me I was sit still and it would come on. Also nothing was wrong with my ears, or hearing. So he said try the migraine treatment first then see if it works and if it doesn't we'll try the treatment for Menier's.  So I think you should 1. test your blood sugar to see if your fasting blood sugar is low or high and maybe two hours after you eat test it again. 2. check your blood pressure to see if it is low or high. 3. Try to get to a doctor who can test your for both Seizures by EEG test. by going to a neurologist. 4. go to a ENT to have them test you for Meniers disease to see if you have a problem with your inner ear.5. if you can get a CT or MRI of the brain to rule out any problems in the brain (not likely but they always like to check. To me because you black out it sounds more like a seizure. If you can get to a doctor that does all these tests. I don't know what they do in Singapore but I know they do it all here in America.  The question is can you afford to pay for it if you go out of the country?
take care,

I have a condition called Mieners' Disease. It is a condition of the inner ear and causes symptoms much like what you are experiencing.  You should get checked out by an ENT specialist. They will be able to tell if that's the issue or not.

It sounds like you have epilepsy. They need to do a test called an electroencephalogram or EEG on you. It doesn't hurt and they just put wires on your head and check the electrical activity of your brain. If it is positive for a seizure like activity they can give you medication for it. You need to see a neurologist that specializes in seizures and migraines. Most neurologists can do this but some specialize these days in everything. So that is what it sounds like to me. I have had two EEG's and they are no big deal. You just stay still and they have you rest while they take recordings. I hope this helps.
