dizzy

I have been getting dizzy spells which the doctor calls vertigo for 7 years now. I have 2 kids and can't even take care of them. I don't even trust playing with them. I can't move right. I try to move left and move right instead. I vomit and cant even keep water down. I get disoriented and it happens around the same time each day but will go away for a few weeks and come back. I don't know what to do. I am almost ready to call children and youth and tell them I can't take care of my kids and don't trust myself with them. I got diagnosed with a migraine disorder but I don't even get headaches until after I vomit for hours. I can't live with this anymore but no medication helps and I am desperate. I feel selfish to make my kids suffer like this. I feel hopeless. Please help me someone or I will have to give up my children and they mean everything to me. I get really hot and I had tests to make sure my equilibrium is fine and blood tests. all sorts of stuff. It happens around the same time each day and I can't even put my one year olds diaper on right. I see double and fall all over the place throwing up and my kids are suffering. HELP ME

If you want people on this website to be able to assist you with possible diagnoses, you have to give far more information.

1. How old are you?
2. Any event that was associated with the start of your symptoms? For example, any serious falls, car accidents, head injuries of any kind, chiropractic manipulation to the neck or other neck injuries?
3. What specific diagnostic tests have been done on you, and what were the results?

Hi and so very sorry you are having all this trouble. I have a migraine variant that in my 20's just gave me vomiting and no headache. It only came on at night. They gave me Klonopin and I haven' t had that since. But I don't recommend Klonopin for the vertigo. So, then I started getting the migraine headaches and aura in my 30's and took Imitrex and that worked some for the migraine headaches. Only this last year and a half I started getting double vision then severe vertigo. I would fall over because I can't tell which way is up. I was going to a neurologist that specialized in migraines and she gave me Topiramate which totally took away the vertigo and double vision. I get a very slight bit but not the kind that knocks you over now and only a few seconds. I was also told to go to an ENT to rule out Meniers disease and they checked my hearing and looked in my ear and did a CT to rule out a tumor behind the ear called acoustic neuroma. They were all negative. If positive for the Meniers they give you water pills. Of course if it was an Acoustic Neuroma they would remove the tumor. So it is good to check those out but since you have the migraine I'm sure that is what is causing the problem. So, if you aren't seeing a neurologist I would go to one. Or if you can't as least try Topiramate. I had to start slow on it and go up to the right dose. It makes you very tired at first for two weeks then you get used to it. It also makes pulling out words harder. But it is a lot better than falling over. I switched to Trokendi which is exended release Topiramate and I was exhasted for two two weeks they didn't have the same dose as topiramate. So for example I was taking 100mg a day of Topiramate (1 pill 25mg in morning and 2  25mg pills at night). But with Trokendi I took 100mg (because they don' have a 75mg pill) at night and I was wiped out. So they do have a 25mg pill and I take 3 of those at night. then I was ok. There is a discount card by the company too. Insurance has a copay. Otherwise, Trokendi is very expensive while Topiramate is generic and cheap.  I hope this works for you. I really believe they will and have a lot of hope for you. Feel free to message me if you like. Let me know if you tried this and if it helped. I had so much trouble with my migraines as well. You probably have a variant too.
