Hi there it sounds like you could be grinding your teeth at night or clamping down on your jaw in your sleep. This can happen if you are under stress etc and believe you me it causes allot of pain like you are describing. I used to get the pains in the right side of my face, ear and temple. My doctor prescribed Ativan for night for one week and the pain disapeared. Have a chat with your GP. Take care.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Sharp pain in the side of face could be due to injury to a nerve or pinched nerve, an infection or a trauma. Hence it could be Trigeminal neuralgia, abscess in tooth, exposed root canal, internal ear infection, maxillary sinusitis, TMJ, migraine, herpes (recurrent) without rash or fibromyalgia localized to face.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Take care!
Hi dine,
First I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. I want to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum only CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences that we have developed through our OWN CP Issues.
I'm REALLY sorry that you are having these facial pains. You have done the correct thing in getting your dental x-rays. You have ruled out what some of the possibilities are for this. NOW you need to go to your Doctor and have him to start running whatever tests he deems possible. Hopefully, he will be able to discover what is going on with you. :)
I'm hoping that others will come on that will hav more ideas than I do that can b of some help to you. :)
W will be looking forward to your updates...........Sherry
