family thing

I and two teenage daughters have had the following symptoms for years( they-2-3), (me- 10-12): sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, headache, fluey feeling- dizzy, woozy, tired, stomach ache, mouth sores, slight fever and chills. One also has a persistent cough for these years and the other had white spots on her throat for months last year. I also have vibrating legs. A homeopath diagnosed strep and the remedy seemed to work at the beginning only but not for months. The symptoms are there for 2-6 weeks and gone for 2-8 weeks at a time typically. We have also taken other homeopathic and natural remedies, to no avail, from a few naturopaths who've tried to solve this.My other teen daughter has never displayed any of these symptoms.AT these times, we all cannot do any physical exercise and find it hard to cope with normal activities. We have also taken action against yeast.

Difficult to evaluation with examination.

As your prior workup has suggested, infection needs to be ruled out.  In addition to strep, tests can be done for mononucleosis as well as viral causes like CMV.

Chronic symptoms needs to be further evaluated by an ENT physician.  Imaging the throat can be done with a laryngoscopy.

Regarding the fever and swollen lymph nodes, a blood count can be done to evaluate for possible lymphoma.  A more definitive approach would be a biopsy of the lymph nodes.

I would also obtain blood cultures to rule out an infection in the blood as well as tests for HIV and TB.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I would talk to your daughter's physician about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and consider visiting the CFIDS Association of America website and taking their quiz, "Do you have CFIDS" ?

what did the homeopath treat the strep with? if it was definitely strep and not treated by antibiotics, you could have many complications from strep untreated....affecting heart, kidneys etc.....
you should see a dr and get blood tests, throat cultures and get properly diaagnosed and treated.
