Do you have some results yet?
I went to the doctors the other day and he went over my symptoms with me and I had blood drawn. So far I haven't heard back about the results, and have lost another pound. He doesn't really know what it is right now, and is waiting to see what the results and then maybe will refer me to a gastrointerologist.
I am glad you are going in and I hope they run the proper tests!
I've been trying a lot of different foods to try and gain weight. Haven't been to the doctors yet, was actually trying to avoid it, but made an appointment finally. It's on wednesday, so I guess I'll find out what the doctor thinks then. I'm just really worried now about how fast I'm losing weight. I was 112.3 earlier today, almost another full pound gone in a day. and still no change in the stool, as it's not going back to normal.
You might try adding (if you don't eat them already) macadamia nuts to your weight gaining diet- they have omega fatty acids that are good for you. Nuts can help pack on the pounds, but some are better for you than others. Walnuts are high in omega fatty acids as well. Have they tested your thyroid?
thanks. I do have somewhat of a lot of sugar in my diet. I've been losing weight lately as well, and have actually been trying to gain weight with no luck. have only lost weight. I was at 114 the other day and dropped to 113.
In nursing school, they taught me that green stool can mean too much sugar in the diet... don't know if that's the case with you or perhaps one of the things doctornee mentioned?
thank you. I'm going to make an appointment, though I had been hoping it'd just go away. It's been green ish for the last week, around there. I had surgery in late August, and a week after had blood on the stool from what I assumed was from a tear in the anus because of constipation from the high dose narcotics. Then that went away and I was fine, until about a week ago with this green ish stool now. It's a dark green color.
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
The stool can become green on taking food rich in green leafy vegetables. If this is not the cause, then the stool is passing out of the large intestine at a very rapid rate so the bile does not break down. This can happen if you have malabsoroption syndromes. A viral infection can change the stool color to dark bottle green color. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
