The symptoms you describe certanly can be from anxiety. They could also be a side effect of the medication. Who diagnosed your anxiety. Have you had any tests done( ct scan, blood test)?
Dr Paul Buckman MD and yes i have had blood test . my thyroid level was good all that was wrong was my trigylcerides was up a little but not alot. no i havent had a ct scan, but i have other symptoms too my ears feel full all the time and they buzz , my eyes seem to not be as good somedays, and i feel like i might have sinus trouble but the dr. says i don't so i dont know all i no is im going crazy with this mess. i have been to the ent dr,. and he just told me to take xanax it would help but nothing major wrong except i had alot of scarring from prior ear infections and i have had the same ear drum busted 3 times thanks
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
What you have is probably benign intracranial hypertension. This happens due to impaired CSF absorption. A generalized throbbing headache worst felt in the morning and last thing at night. This headache is generally relieved on standing (consistent with raised intracranial pressure). It is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. You have a similar headache.
The second most common symptom is visual defect, which you too have. Also tinnitus or ringing in the ear is pretty common. Antianxiety medications were earlier helping you; this again goes in favor of this problem.
Hypothyroidism (you already have this), hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency are a few things I would recommend you get investigated for. These can precipitate BIH. A spinal tap is a must both to diagnose the condition and to treat it. You need a prompt evaluation by a neurologist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
