help

started 1.5 yrs ago with bilateral knee weakness and i've been to the doc many times and he said Im young and just exercise. It progressed to the point that i needed to wear knee supports to walk or else ill be too weak to walk. Knee pain thats sharp and feels like my bones are grinding when I walk. At times my calves would feel tingly or slightly numb. As this went on both my hip joints hurt like hell. Felt like the bones were grinding, and the muscles ached and felt weak and couldnt walk. the pain would shoot down the back or side of my thighs. I've seen a podiatrist for insoles, done bloodwork, MRI of my lumbar spine, xrays of my knee joints and hip joints. EVERYTHING is negative and ive seen a neurologist and a rheumatologist. Ive been going to a chiropractor and Physio (b/c mobility was limited) and I have been getting better ( i can walk without knee supports now), the pain is sometimes constant and sometimes intermittent, can be dull and sharp. WHAT is wrong with me. Im only 25.

Was your knee swollen? Mines not.... and I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon, his fellow looked at my xray said nothing was wrong and dismissed me. I guess it doesnt hurt to try again. thanks=)

Hi! This answer may be totally irrelevant and you may think I am an idiot but I was getting up from a nap one day & heard this awful crack in my knee and immediatly fell to the ground. I thought I was okay after a while but I couldnt move it and when I tried to put weight on it, it just went limp. I went straight to the ER and they did xrays and sent me home with orders to see an ortho. He saw bony fragments under my kneecap and said I dislocated it & ordered me to have an MRI. It showed a huge miniscle tear and tons of fluid behind the knee. All from getting out of bed. It was a sharp shooting pain just like yo udiscribed. sometimes my whole leg would go numb just like yours. Ask your doctor. They could be overlooking something.
P.S. the ER doctors did two sets of xrays and "found nothing" but the ortho looked at it for five minutes and knew something was really wrong! It never hurts to ask:) hope i helped!
