okay, after reading this I have to say my problems are a bit similar. My rash started two months ago on my back. I thought from dry skin as the months progressed it spread to my chest, arms, hips, butt, thighs.  Family doctor ruled out scabies and shingles.  Starting me out with a cream, which didn't work, to peridzone pack which not only didn't work but gave me bad side effects.  Went to dermatologist this week, and he couldn't even see the rash, when I told him bendryl helped, he told me since that helped he thinks it is an allergic reaction. Said I had chronic hives, and they could go away in one week, one month, one year or ten years.  Let me tell you I will be crzy before the 10 years is up.  Told me to take zyrtec, I could take up to 4 a day safely.  If I don't get relief come back. I have nausea off and on with them, and now my skin is getting sore.  I have been tested for lupus and it was negative. Will be making anothr rip ti doctor next week if not better by then.

Interesting that you mentioned Nambutripad's treatments.  I only have food allergies left as I had all my other allergies removed with acupuncture.   Then my chiropractor moved away.

Hi Cheyenne and silverfox.

Cheyenne, we don't know what you read. However, your Urticaria as mentioned by silverfox, which is not confirmed as chronic, but definitely reactive, is an immune response to a substance/molecule/chemical of some type which may also include any chemicals produced by your own body in response to severe or prolonged stress. The "rain barrel effect" is an occurrence that takes place when body reaches a significant  level of imbalance (spill-over), unable to process the offending substances further, thus  the immune system response and consequently the onset of the symptoms.

I have found through my experience over the years in Holistic Health
and Energy Medicine, that any Doctor or Health Practitioner trained in
NAET ( Dr. Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques) or "Allergy Antodotes", both Energy medicine practices, will be able to treat your urticaria by re-balancing your immune system, very efficiently and without any medications!

Just do a search for your area. This will save you from a lot of unnecessary
suffering and aggravation! The conventional medical system does not have a good record in this field. That is why there are so many Doctors and Health Practitioners going with the aforementioned training and practice all over the world!

The "chronic" description is, to my opinion, only because of the lack of an explanation for the cause and the cure as well.

Silverfox, Rhus Toxicodendron, may work, but the constitution of the patient is absolutely necessary by careful and detailed history taking before the correct homeopathic remedy at the correct potentiation can be prescribed.

Cheyenne, you may try to identify the underlying cause, by process of elimination of foods, drugs, drinks, stressful situations, harsh soaps and
creams, shampoos etc, while waiting for your next appointment, but honestly, I wouldn't be putting my hopes very high with the next doctor visit!

This is not intended as a substitute for medical advice.

Please post again, or if you wish, you can pm me any time.

Love & Light
Niko

There was a documentary about a fella who had Chronic Uticaria (hives).  He was traveling the USA "eating" only raw fruits and vegetables in  his smoothie drinks.  He and a trucker who also had the same condition "cured" it with their smoothies.
Rhus toxicodendron available at health food stores might help with your chronic hives.
In the meantime, your doctor is right - antihistamines are about the only thing that can help.
The documentary was called "Fat and Almost Dead" or something like that.  Wish I could remember the exact title.  Sorry.

     I hope this information helps.
