i see blood only when wiping after urination

ive been bleeding for 2 wks like a period but had spotted 2-3 days a week before that and stopped. i did 2 pregnancy test which came out negative. Did a pap smear and hcg blood tests - all came back normal and negative for the hcg blood. I had a break of 2 days which no blood was visible nor spotting. Now i see blood when i only wipe after urination and im really concerned....could this be an uti with no symptoms and need medication, or some kind of vaginal infection like vaginitis that needs attention?? If not a gyn problem then it could be a urology problem right? Do i have to be worried it can be far more worse than just treatable infections???......help!! i am reallye worried and dont know what to think anymore......thanks...

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you have been bleeding for two weeks, the first thing you should rule out is miscarriage. A prolonged bleeding of any kind from the vagina can be due to a sore or ulcer, endometritis or infection of endometrium of uterus, cervicitis or infection of cervix, fibroids, vaginal infections, vaginal polyp, endometriosis and cancer of either cervix, uterus or ovary.
What you see on wipes is actually blood from vagina. It is unlikely to be due to UTI. You would need to get some investigations done including hormone analysis, PAP smear, ultrasound and maybe CT scan of pelvis. Consult a gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

sounds like a urology problem, could be something irritating the urethra. have the doc check it out to rule out bladder infection or kidney problems. also this may sound weird, but if you use condoms a lot it can also be something similar to a rug burn on your clitoris.I had a friend who had this happen she and her BF would go at it 3x a day and always used a rubber. poor thing had eraser burn on her button and would inadvertently rub it open when she whiped.

I think it sounds very much like a urinary tract infection. I've had them before. Have you been getting any other symptoms such as burning when you urinate and frequency? UTIs can be caused by many different bacteria, and some bacteria may cause a bit of bleeding. I advise you see your doctor and tell him or her the symptoms. He or she will probably send you off for a urine test to determine the bacteria and then he or she will prescribe you the right antibiotics to treat the infection.
