irregular menstruation, hirsutism, galactorrhea, small breasts, super petite

I'm only 22 yrs old, female, and have been wondering what's happening to me lately. Im really petite, if that's what you would even call it, standing only 5 feet and weighing 94 lbs. I had regular menstruation for the past year but for my last menstrual cycle it was different. It had an interval of 10 weeks. As of the present I still don't have my succeeding period, now already 11 weeks since my last one. I also noticed that I have slight galactorrhea, traces of white on my nipples and increased hair on top of my lips. (I don't really want to call it a moustache. I also have very small breasts.) I also had minimal vaginal bleeding the past weeks lasting for almost 3 weeks. I have ruled out pregnancy with a home pregnancy test kit. what could I have?

Hi.

Thank you so much for the reply. I am really worried of this PCOS. But I still don't have the finances to support me for my consultation. I'm really saving for it as of the present.

These are multiple cysts? are they cancerous? I'm extremely worried.

Thank you very much.

Hello,

Yours ymptoms are suggestive of polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS). PCOS causes cysts to form on the ovaries, interfering with regular ovulation. Symptoms of this syndrome include: excessive hair growth, weight gain, irregular menstrual cycle, acne, dandruff, high blood pressure, and infertility. Left untreated, it can lead to other more serious complications, including endometriosis, heart disease, and ovarian cancer.

Diagnosed by tests like 2 hr GTT,serum androgen and testosterone levels,LH-FSH ratio, prolactin levels,TSH levels,17-hydroxyprogesterone levels  and 3D ultrasound done.3 D ultrasound is the golden test for diagnosing PCOS.

I sincerely advise you to consult a gynecologist/endocrinologist and discuss this possibility with them.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
