kidney trouble

I have had blood in my urine for 2 months now and I have had stomach cramps similar to menstrual cramps lately. I also have a history of kidney stones. I go next week for my cat scan and see if I have stones or something that may show up. I am worried but I always do, but this time I haven't been in pain like I was the other times I had stones it just seems different. I also worried about Bladder cancer or kidney cancer, but the symptoms doesn't exactly fit there either. So my question is has anyone had the blood in their urine and stomach cramps and had something else other than the kidney stones. Also I like to mention that my kidney function test came back fine. I would appreciate anyone's input.

My ct scan came out okay nothing wrong with my kidneys. This week I'm going for a cystoscopy to check my bladder out. I'm thinking it could be IC, I have a friend that has it and our symptoms are similar. But I'm no doctor though I'm always trying to diagnose myself. So I'll post back later what if anything I find out.

Thank you so much for your input.  I know jumping to c word is jumping the gun I'm just such a worry wart. My grandmother died in 2010 of liver/lung cancer and seems like I've had trouble since. Not just health wise but emotional too, did I mention I also have panic attacks. I will check into the std thought though. I go tomorrow for my Ct scan so wish me luck and I will post back later. Again thank you!!

Any noticeable blood in your urine is not good. Get an X-ray or CT scan on your kidneys if at all possible. My partner's father recently had a doctor's appointment to follow-up his kidney stones (he passed one) and it turned out that there was another one about a centimeter long lodged in the tip of his right kidney that will have to be surgically removed. He didn't really have any pain after the one was passed, but he felt something was wrong (I don't know what colour his urine was). This might be you! But, it might not be anything related to kidney stones, this is just my first instinct (probably because of the recency of the knowledge).

To answer your actual question posted, I don't see this being a regular bladder/kidney infection unless it burns to urinate, but as you have stated, your kidney function test has come back fine. Could it be possible that you are infected with an STD? It could be the case if you feel like you have menstrual cramps all the time. Sometimes STDs or other vaginal infections are asymptomatic for long periods of time and then they can suddenly wreck havoc on a woman's insides, including her bladder. Maybe ask for an STD/vaginal infection test to rule this out and maybe an X-ray/CT scan just in case you think this might lean towards kidney stones. I hope everything gets resolved soon; sounds like you've been dealing with this for a long time. This is a long shot, but apparently problems with your liver can also alter the appearance of your urine, but I think since you are having cramps the issue might be more confined to the feminine/bladder/kidney area. I wouldn't jump to cancer quite yet, being that you are so young... See what the doctor might think in regards to that though. I hope all of this resolves soon!
