knot on cheekbone

I have a knot on my cheekbone i just noticed last year.  I want to have it removed but I am not sure if I should be worried about the knot.  It is painless but it is disfiguring my face.

Hi,

It is difficult to say what exactly it is. I think you need to consult a maxillofacial surgeon for the same and will need further tests like an x-ray and maybe a CT scan to find out what exactly this not is. It could be a benign growth where a surgical removal may not be desired but will all depend on the test report.

Please consult a surgeon or a dermatologist for the same.

I hope that helped. Please do keep me posted.

Kind regards.

My mother had this problem a few years ago.  It was a malignant mass of cells that formed on the bony structure of her cheekbone, right under her eye.  It was a simple procedure to remove, she barely felt it, and was feeling like normal the next day.

Hope this helps, best of luck!

If it is on your face, you should seek out a doctor with board cert in facial plastics.  This can be any type of specialty otherwise (dermatology, plastics, etc.)

I am sorry I cannot be of more help because I am not sure what you mean by a knot.  Is it in the skin, under the skin or part of the bone itself?
