low grade fever and sharp pains on left side of stomach

Huband has low grade fever and sharp like knife pains on left side of stomach under heart
What can be the cause. Can this be a heart attack? No stiffness or pain in arm.

Is it possible to get a fever 1 week after exposure? Also, the fever keeps going on and off :S

Any jaw pain? Left arm pain ? Neck pain? Those are other signs for a heart attack... I know this sounds funny but it sounds like gastritis/indigestion:) He could try to take a prilosec ... or other heartburn indigestion medication :) good luck!
