Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Lump behind the ear could be a lymph node. You may not have been sick but local infections like dandruff or a dermatitis too can cause a lymph node to swell and be tender. It could also be a folliculitis or an abscess. An infected cyst is also a possibility. All these would give you ear ache due to inflammation. Please get this investigated. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

I have had those before. Sometimes they are infected blackheads (or pimples), or they are just deposits that form sometimes. They tend to go away on their own. The pain you are experiencing could be because the lump is near a nerve. If you are really concerned about it, you should schedule an appointment with your doctor.

Typically that's known has a swollen gland.
Its going to be very painful at times the best
thing i did when i had mine was heat packs.
And if you smoke decrease on that. My doc. told
me it causes it to flare up more. It also could be a lymphoid
gland that is swollen.Although my pain didnt extend
to my wrist , id have it checked out just to be on the safe side.
But it sounds as if a swollen gland.

Good Luck.
