lymph nodes

I have been on antibiotics for a month and I still have swollen lymph nodes and painful

Hi there...i had swollen lymph nodes from cat scratch fever....after taking the antibiotics my doctor told me it could take 8 or 9 months for the lymph nodes to go away---he was right...what caused your swollen lymph nodes?...i guess it just depends on what causes the lymph nodes to swell as to how long they will stay that way....i recently had swollen lymph nodes in my neck and armpit, but they went away after a couple of weeks and i had no apparent infection or anything---sometimes our bodies do strange things...the best thing to do is talk to your doctor and see what he/she says....feel better...God bless.

I would have some blood work done to rule out things like leukemia.
