9 months ago I was a healthy 45 yr old 9 months pregnant w/ 7th baby. Delivered healthy baby by c-section and landed back in hospital 3 days later with DVT. Put on coumadin to treat DVT. At the same time I noticed an itchy (intense) spot on back of my neck. Several people looked at it and said it looked like a mosquito bite. Thought nothing more of it at the time. About week after DVT was discovered (2 wks after birth) I came down with flu-like symptoms, achiness, fever etc and a bad toothache. Saw my dentist for tooth---sent me to a specailist, put me on Amoxil 500mg for 1 week. Specialist said nothing on xray but felt extraction was indicated. INR from coumadin was high so extraction was delayed but tooth began to feel better after 5 days on antibiotic) Meanwhile muscle pain began. Initially it was in my neck -- felt like stiff neck. Then appeared in my arms -- felt like I had severly overused my muscles. Pains would migrate from upper arms to forearm etc. Then to rib area, then to legs. Also developed pain in lower back, hips and under ribcage that remained and progressed. Currently experiencing migratory muscle pain and constant midsection pain -- bending, lifting, moving hurt. Have seen many specialists and had several blood tests -- all normal or negative --- ANA, rheumatoid factor, CBC, sed rate, lyme antibody, TSH, aldolase, EMG. My PCP has washed her hands of me. Hematologist is stumped and sending me to teaching facility. I believe I might have lyme disease in spite of negative titer. Positive bite history, flu-like symptoms, muscle involvement, joint pain, irregular menstruation, significant hairloss, blurred vision, sometime stabbing headaches that last for brief minutes. PCP says no -- unwilling to try course of Doxycycline but willing to place me on NSAIDS or steroids to treat pain. Anyone have any ideas? Could something from c-section have caused this reaction? Possibility of lyme? Other tick borne illness? I was very healthy prior to baby's birth---now feel like an 80 yr old woman. Appreciate any input
