thanks, i had an ESR previously and it was normal so i think shes going to do CK and AST. i think i might have tendonitis at the moment in my arm, but that wouldnt explain why other muscles eg neck are involved and why iv had this for so long. i dont think it would be arthritis of any sort because im too young and i dont have any joint probs. so i still dont really know what it could be. i dont think it could be anything like polymyalgia as i dont think i have any muscle weakness or anything,.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The various causes are carpel tunnel syndrome, inflammation of the tendons of the arm due to repetitive work, lymphangitis, deep vein thrombosis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. You need to consult a doctor and rule these out by blood tests, X-rays, nerve conduction studies, rheumatoid factor, ESR, etc. Muscle injury causing the muscles to swell up can be diagnosed by enzymes transaminase (AST) and creatinine phosphokinase. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
