my little fingers

my little fingers are crooked and bend, its never really bothered me before but for the past couple of months they have become really sore, i can't touch them without there being any pain and i find it hard to bend them.

they look all out of place, but i have never broken them. Does anyone know what this could be?

My 8 year old granddaughter's pinky fingers are both badly curved toward the 4th finger. They completely stopped growing at about age 4 or 5. They're starting to look pretty grotesque, but her pediatrician doesn't think it's significant.  It appears surgery could straighten them, but may as well wait until she stops growing and do a bone graft to lengthen them a little. Age 5 pinkies on an age 8 girl look really out of place! I guess I need to take her to an orthopedist.

Wonder if it's part of a genetic syndrome that could come into focus later? She's normal in every other way.

Many thanks,,,

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
This could be due to Mallet Finger. This is a condition in which the end joint of a finger bends but will not straighten by itself.  In some cases this is an inherited disorder, especially if the pinky finger curves toward the fourth finger. This can also be confirmed if there are other family members who have this problem.
Do not ignore this. Try an ortho specialist to figure out what it is. This could be inflammation or arthritis or you may have hurt your hand somewhere.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.  Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

My brother has just had surgery a few weeks ago for the same problem, aparently its a hereditary thing that has a nordic decent,so its the vikings fault :(...anyway you would be advised to visit your GP,My brother has had a lump removed from his finger which was making his finger bend into the hand and it couldnt be straightened and was aching when it bent over.hope you get it sorted soon

Hello!  I am not sure what it could be but I would definitely see a Dr. and have your fingers examined.  That would be the best thing for you right now.
