I have been getting reoccuring symptoms... they include and start with stomach distress.. burping and gas as well as pain in my abdomen...mostly lower.. along with joint pain in my knees primarily but not exclusively.. then come the bone breaking chills... i shake and twitch from the freezing chills... it lasts about 6 hours then slowly goes away and am ok 24 hours later... i had vomitted and diarhea with one episode but not others.. i go back and forth between constipation and loose movements... and occasionally have hot flashes which cause sweating spontaniously... there is a history of crohns with my brother etc... i also have nerve pain in my feet and upper body ... the foot pain has been diagnosed as neuropathy.... but considered mild.. i have never been one for headaches but do when these episodes occur... and the strangest part is that it all seems to happen when i get pain in my sciatic nerve.... usually on my right side... strange i know but...any help would be appreciated

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you have a family history of Crohn’s, then the symptoms you have could be due to Crohn’s Disease which along with gut related symptoms also causes neurological and skin related symptoms and joint pains. The neurological symptoms get aggravated with each attack. If the possibility of Crohn’s is ruled out in your case, then other inflammatory bowel conditions are to considered such as celiac disease, IBS or lactose intolerance.
I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system). It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
