ovarian cyst problems

I have an ovarian cyst. I have a history of getting them. I am also feeling faint. One of my teachers said she had the same problem and she fainted because of the cyst and she had surgery. I also went online looking about ovarian cysts and it said to seek medical assistance if: feeling faint was one of them. I'm not sure what to do. The pain is getting a little bit worse, nothing that I haven't experienced before. What should I do about this?

my doctors aren't really saying much. they just want to keep an eye on things so i have to miss school and go for an ultra sound every six weeks. due for another next week. i once had one that was the size of a golf ball and they didn't say anything but, come back in 6 weeks to see if its still there. so i had to deal with stomach aches here and there. my mom said i could go to her doctor and they would give me medicine to make me stop menstrating, but i never did. thats pretty much it.

I've read all your post and all the comments. You're getting good advise but, you really need to see your Dr. If you are not happy with the one you have tell your parents you want to see someone else. I beleive I read you were 13 years old. What does your mother think about what the Dr is telling you?

I had a few ovarian cysts also.  I found out because I was having really bad pain on my left side and unexplained spotting.  When they did an ultrasound they found two about 3-4cm.  I had a laproscopy about one month later- they disappeared.  My dr. explained to me that cysts grow and cause pain and then usually disappear after a few cycles of your menstral period.  But it sounds like you should probably get checked out just to make sure.

My cousin has a history of ovarian cysts.  She is in college now, but I remember in high school she would feel faint and get stabbing pain in her stomach.  She would go to the ER b/c she couldn't take it anymore and they said her cysts were rupturing.  She was put on birth control to help prevent ovarian cancer and to help from getting more.  Since being on birh control for a few years she hasn't had nearly as much problems.  If it is the case that they are rupturing I'm not sure if there is anything they can do.  But if you are in pain I would go to the dr. or ER it might be something different.
