pain in chest/abdomen

I have been sick since around Saturday afternoon, I knew I was getting sick because my throat began to hurt badly. I haven't had a voice for the past couple weeks because I have been on vacation and there has been a lot of yelling/singing involved. When I woke up two days ago on Sunday morning I noticed that at the back right side of my throat there was large red patch of irritation, very sensitive. It hurts to swallow but this is not what I am concerned about. Every time I drink Tea (whether it is hot or warm) I get first a pain in my chest, almost directly between my breasts, but then also pain in my abdomen area. I have no clue what this is and don't want to go to a doctor if its something that just takes a couple days to go away.
If you have any ideas please help!

MedicineNet.com defininition of the Vagus nerve a:
A nerve that supplies nerve fibers to the pharynx (throat), larynx (voice box), trachea (windpipe), lungs, heart, esophagus, and intestinal tract, as far as the transverse portion of the colon. The vagus nerve also brings sensory information back to the brain from the ear, tongue, pharynx, and larynx.”

By irritating your Larynx with the excessive yelling/singing you likely caused inflammation/damage to the Vagus nerve , which by definition supplies nerve fibers to  ALL the areas where you're experiencing pain..
There's a lesser possibility
you may have also sustained some damage  at the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) which can cause paralysis of the muscles which control vocal cord tension, which in turn can affect  thevoice and swallowing mechanism.
Any underlying dormant infection, activated by this injury, must be ruled out.
I think it is wise to see an Otolaryngologist asap., for an evaluation.

For the time being, voice rest, staying hydrated (no caffeinated drinks including tea) and as a prevention -in case it is infectious laryngitis- coconut oil consumption will help, as it is naturally anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. 2-5 tablespoons daily, but start with 2T and gradually increase..

Hope this helps, however, my comments and suggestions are not intended as replacement for medical advice.

Best wishes,
Niko
