pain in my right side of head and neck region

hello there i am 27 year old male doing my research in Plant molecular biology. I have been feeling pain in my neck right side to near jaws to front right forehead to back side of my head. it started before about a month ago, i was occasional smoker, and i left smoking also. when the pain happens it starts from the right back side of my head to right forehead with arteries swelling up with pulsating pain. The pain continues to my right eye (pain in inner side) to right side of my neck. If i take a hour or two sleep then i feel relief. If i shout or sing more the pain starts with right side of my neck and grows to right side of my head. when i sleep i can feel my  arteries of right side of head are swollen and paining so i have to sleep on my left side. I thought it would be because of my eye problems so I went to an eye specialist for checkup and he diagnosed me with Migraine. But i have a doubt can anybody please suggest the actual cause of my situation...??

Do you spend a lot of time at a desk, using a computer or reading.
Most people who do (Myself included) tend to lean to one side more than the other, causing muscular skeletal stress, and pain.
The pain may also be worsened in the head, neck, and jaw area if you tend to put your elbows on the desk and lean your head down into your palm (Or palms) for extended periods of time.
If any of this (Trivial as it may sound) describes your body positioning for a few hours at a time during the day, it may be the source of your problem.
Try being more conscious of you posture, and/or raising the height of your work area (Desk) to avoid leaning down into it.
Also try to be mindful of a subconscious habit during stressing times, like gritting your teeth,or clenching your jaw muscles.

HEAD CT SCAN VS HEAD MRI

Advantages of head CT

CT is much faster than MRI, making it the study of choice in cases of trauma and other acute neurological emergencies
CT can be obtained at considerably less cost than MRI, and is sufficient to exclude many neurological disorders
CT is less sensitive to patient motion during the examination. because the imaging can be performed much more rapidly
CT may be easier to perform in claustrophobic or very heavy patients
CT provides detailed evaluation of cortical bone
CT allows accurate detection of calcification and metal foreign bodies
CT can be performed at no risk to the patient with implantable medical devices, such as cardiac pacemakers, ferromagnetic vascular clips, and nerve stimulators

Advantages of head MRI

MRI does not use ionizing radiation, and is thus preferred over CT in children and patients requiring multiple imaging examinations
MRI has a much greater range of available soft tissue contrast, depicts anatomy in greater detail, and is more sensitive and specific for abnormalities within the brain itself
MRI scanning can be performed in any imaging plane without having to physically move the patient
MRI contrast agents have a considerably smaller risk of causing potentially lethal allergic reaction
MRI allows the evaluation of structures that may be obscured by artifacts from bone in CT images

Look into  familial hemiplegic migraine (FHM) and sporadic hemiplegic migraine (SHM) variants.
If indeed it is a variant of one of these 2 types of hemiplegic migraine,
genetic mutations have been linked to FHM gene loci, Type 1, 2, 3 and 4,
should you want to research this further.

FHM and SHM patients must pay attention to identify triggers, in order to avoid them in the future to minimize the severity and frequency of the
migraines.

Imaging tests like CT scan or MRI may be necessary, before a definite diagnosis can be determined.

Best wishes,
Niko
