pain in right side of chest

I am 37 years old and am taking pretty good care of myself. I weight train regularly and work on good nutrition. I began having a dull pain in the right side of my chest and of course assumed it was a pulled muscle. It hurts when I try to turn from side to side. It has now started to hurt when I take a breath, deep or shallow. Today actually , it began to throb as I was sitting motionless. I'm trying not to become too concerned about it, but  it's starting to bother me. I had some chest x-rays about a month or two ago due to a bad cough. It was determined that it was early on-set pneumonia, due to some small bubble-like white dots( one on each lung), and I was treated with antibiotics and got better. They said to be on the safe side, they were sending my x-rays to the radiology dept. and they would contact me if it turned out to be something bad. But assured me that they felt sure it was the early pneumonia. Heard nothing so I assume all was A-OK. But now I'm starting to wonder..... Any response would be greatly appreciated! I hate to complain especially if it's nothing.

your probably experiencing costochondritis or pre-cordial catch syndrome...it should get better after a few weeks...i got pre-cordial catch and it took six weeks to go away...you should have another chest and spinal x-ray but your probably alright...just google these conditions and you will have the answers you seek...good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask

well... I had a virus that led up to this and they did do blood work. I am muscular build and have worked out most of my life. I have had no trauma that could have caused this. I don't remember hurting  or straining it at all during a workout either. The pain is dull ( no sharpness) but it's like a throb and pretty doggone uncomfortable! And it's weird b/c it can hurt when I take a breath sometimes and  other times not. In other words not consistent. Although when I turn to the right, it hurts every time! And it doesn't really hurt at all when I turn to the left. As far as the antibiotics, I think they gave me a Z-pak. Along with some meds for the cough. No, I do not have a persistent cough. I consider myself pretty healthy, I try to eat right and I definitely DO NOT smoke. My dad always smoked in the house when I was growing up. I have bad allergies that have gotten worse as I've gotten older. Sinus infections from the allergies have really been my only problems. I have developed some unknown source of food allergies. And NO to strange sexual contact....thats ok. My husband wants me to go to dr. but I just hate to go and feel like a dummy if its nothing.( which is exactly what I want it to be.)

there are a few possibilities...musculoskeletal and respiratory... you say you had pneumonia...what was the causing bacteria?virus?fungus? did they do blood work? what is your physical build?history of spinal trauma or back or neck pain? what sort of excercises  do you do for your chest or arms? can you describe the pain? radiate?central? severe?mild? what sort of anti-biotics were you on?i dont like they found "white dots" on your lungs...have you had a persisting cough if so for how long? any other symptoms at all? any lightheadedness? how is your diet? do you smoke? any history of infections? any recent sexual contact with someone out of the "ordinary" sorry to ask... there are many things i just need a little more info...
