painful movement and breathing lump on chest

For several months i have had extreme pain in my ribs it hurts when i move when i breath when i lift anything when i sleep it has been . Recently i developed a large lump i would say its bigger than a grape bigger than a half dollar and it extends kind of underneath my breast and along the top of my ribs the lump is hard its not like squishy or anything, my left ribs are puffy and protrude much further than my right rib cage. I have had alot of trouble sleeping and infact last night i felt the hard lump not move in any way but almost like a buzzing bubbly feeling very faint I couldnt lift my upper body out of bed this morning and i am unable to sleep at night. I was sick to my stomach last night and I could not vomit easily because i couldnt take a deep enough breath. If that makes any sense. I thought it might of popped but sure enough it hasent and is so painful i cannot lift my upper body off the bed, I was sick about a year ago and i was sick for 10 months with cronic appendicitus it was 80 to 90 percent blocked and i spent close to a year in bed un able to walk vomiting , my marrage was falling apart finally they removed it they had a hard time because they wanted to blame my pain on my ovarian cysts anyways this is my reasoning for being so frightful to go to the hospital. I know theres probably nothing wrong and it will more than likely go away but i worry about the small chance there could be something.I cannot function the pain does not subside it just radiates more when i do certain things. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this ? what could it possibly be and why does it hurt so bad. Please help!!!!!

One thing i am not experiencing burping and i thought the way i decribed the bubbling that it might sound kind of like gas or something it was a very strange feeling . I have not experience heartburn symptoms or anything. I also felt in my most recent post i explain more indepth about the lump it it hard like a silver dollar, it is between my brest and has gotten to the point that i do not have a gap between my breast.  my left rib cage is protruding quite far and is puffy normally you can see my ribs if i just stand there you can see my right ribs now but my left it just a big puffy mess.  I read someone elses post about costochondritis and it sounded more like the one that is quite similar tiets syndrome or something like that i know its spelled wrong how ever it stated at the very bottom that  puss and abcesses are not a part of that . I was thinking that it might be an abcess between my breast.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
The pain could be due to costochondritis (inflammation of the joint between rib and sternum. The inflammation around the joint area probably gives a feeling of a lump. It could also be osteomyelitis of the rib bones or a mild fracture. Pleuritis too causes unbearable pain. Since you were in bed for long, it could also be due to a lung problem.
Chances are that you have esophageal reflux (GERD), where the food in your stomach is thrown up into your food pipe or esophagus. This also causes burning sensation or discomfort in the chest area and burps. Another possibility is hiatal hernia, where a portion of stomach herniates into the chest cavity through the diaphragm.

It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage without examining. You must have an X-ray of chest done. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
