persisting symptoms

Hi im sarah 23 i have been feeling generally unwell for the past year with a general overview of my health has been
A on and off eye infection, i was told many of times it was hayfever, until i went and payed for private health where they told me i had a really bad eye infection of which they put me on antibiotics , steroids and antibacterial eye drops.
They doctor could never put his finger on what the infection was nore how it was caused. Therefore i just had to take his word as i was desperate for this to go.Also during this time i was very ill hot sweats, dizzyness, extreme fatigue , poor concentration.Eventually my infection went away after 18months of suffering.
Recently ihave been having a feeling of pressure behind one of my eyes and having a gritty like feeling in my eyes constantly. i also have been getting mild inner ear pain and neck pain headaches, extreme fatigue , loss of apitite, jaw ache. Feeling dizzy , lack of concentration , and a feeling of not being able to stand up for long due to weakness.Feeling shakey , been having a pain under my left rib cage on and off, excessive wind and constipation.u name it ive got it. Due to the above i took a trip to the doctors who diagnosed me with a really bad urine infection. I run the corse of anti biotics yet still this hasnt got rid of any of the above. The frequentness over the past 3 years or so is really starting to ware me down, as you can see reading this im sort of at my wits end as im ill so much im petrifed im going to end up loosing my job.
here again are my main symptoms : Pressure in left eye and occasionally both.Waking up with extreme dry eyes. Feeling unable to concentrate, dizzy, blurry vision, tiredness which is effecting my day to day life. Mild on and off pain in both ears.headaches. Then for the stomach problems, pain under lower left rib, cronic gas, odd stools from runny to not being able to go at all. The stomach and head problems might be linked or could be completly seperate.
could anybody please help. thankyou for reading sorry its so long x

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms that you are having could be due to Reiter’s syndrome or reactive arthritis, which includes a triad of arthritis, uveitis (the eye symptoms you have) and genitourinary infection—which you have. Ideally the urine and vaginal swab should be cultured (after about a week of stopping antibiotics) and generally the causative organism is found to be salmonella, campylobacter, yersinia, and shigella. This also causes gut related symptoms which you have also.
Diagnosis is generally by clinical examination and a presence of these symptoms. All these symptoms have to be looked at together by an internal medicine specialist and not as individual symptoms by their specialists to get a confirmed diagnosis.
Hope this helps. Take care!

I was wondering if you had any problems with your knees?

The doctors were wondering if I had this a while back and your post made me think of this.  Not sure, but might be helpful!

Good luck!

Usually when symptoms persist your body is trying to tell you that you either have a nutritional deficiency or there is something in your environment that is not agreeing with you.  Could there be mold in your house?  Do you use air fresheners, scented laundry detergents, cigarette smoke,  etc.  Try sleeping at a friends house for a week and see if the symptoms change.

Thank you for replying really appreciate it.I went to the doctors today explained my problems my glands in my neck were really up and I'm going for blood testing tomorrow in the testing is going to be glandular fever testing as aparently it can re occur. The doctor I saw remembers 4 years ago when she diagnosed me with it ( quite shocking she remembered )as I was the illest person shed seen with it. I was taken to hospital and was in 4 a week I had Quinsey in my throat caused by the fever and I was so poorly I was back in within a couple of months having my toncils removed. I hope the blood test shows somthing so I can start feeling better and I don't have to keep trying to find answers to my  problems. My left eye has been a huge problem sore pressure feelin in eye headaches dizzy and swollen glands. If I don't get any results from the blood I don't know what I'm going to do

Vitamin D deficiency has become an epidemic in this country.  I don't know why most doctors haven't caught on yet. Luckily my doctor has. I've had all your symptoms and the only thing that came up was a Vit D deficiency. Let me try to help you understand. The only way you can have sufficient levels of D is if you are out in the sun 3 times a week in a bathing suit with no sunblock on for 30 minutes or eat oily fish every day. D tells calcium where to go, without D, calcium will just flush out. Calcium is in allour organs including our stomach, skin, all our muscles etc. If there is no calcium then you cannot hydrate properly and will suffer from all these symptoms of dehydration that you are having. Doctors usually prescribe 50,000iu of D2 which is inferior to D3 which is sold in health food stores. 5000iu softgels of D3 will have your levels up in a few months..The first signs that the D3 is working is an overall feeling of wellbeing and soft skin. If this work for you, help me spread the word. I'm tired of doctors getting rich off us for doing nothing
