You might also want to have a Hida Scan done. This test evaluates how well your gallbladder is functioning. Even in the absence of stones, you can have sludge, etc. that decrease the gallbladder's effectiveness.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
You are possibly suffering from Celiac Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome. All these result in tender abdomen, loose stool or loose stools alternating with constipation, abdominal distention, cramps etc.
I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system). Maybe your physician can recommend someone.
Irritable bowel is generally diagnosed by elimination of other causes. There are several other causes that too should be looked into like parasites, malabsorption syndromes, pancreatic diseases, diabetes, hyperthyroidism etc. If you had any abdominal surgery in the past then it could be due to adhesions.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

You must learn to be your own patient advocate these days......and dont be timid about it.  These people are working on the most important thing that you possess - your own health!  And they are working for you - you arent doing them a favor by going there to them to recieve health care ............ you are employing them to do a good job and render professional services for which they recieve good pay. Tell them exactly how you feel.  And good luck to you!

It sounds like you might have a problem with your gallbladder. I know you said you have had an ultrasound, but sometimes gallstones don't show up on ultrasound because they are stuck in the bile duct (that is what causes the pain in some cases). I think I would check with another dr. and suggest that your gallbladder be checked. Just because one doctor says nothing is wrong, doesn't mean that nothing is wrong!  Remember...you are the employer of the doctor...you pay him, so you are well within your rights to ask the doctor to check your gallbladder. If I hadn't insisted that my doctor test me for a certain illness 3 years ago, I would be dead right now.
