Mild fever since 21 days (continuous), test results have not revealed anything yet????

i am 30 yr old male,I am suffering from mild fever 99.4- 101.7, since the past 21 days.I also have very mild body aches and my neck glands are a little swollen. The fever comes every 6-7 hours, taking Advil for it. I'm taking antibiotics, the doctor has done alot of tests but nothing has turned out yet. doctor said that it could be prostatitis so i'm taking doxycycline , though I have mild pain in prostate but do not have any other symptom... the fatigue and weakness has made me miserable??? if anyone has known of or experienced something like this please let me know. Lot of blood tests, urine test, Ct scan already done.Any other test that I should go for?  Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Since I do not know what tests have been done, I am enumerating the possible causes. You can check with the doctor and see which of these have not been looked into. Recurrent or chronic fever is seen in tuberculosis, SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) and other auto immune disorders, UTI, drug fever, sinusitis, glandular fever, otitis media, IBS, HIV, STDs, endocarditis, parasitic infestations, fungal infections, lymphomas and other cancers etc. It can even be diabetes and hyperthyroidism.
Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too.
Please discuss this with your doctor.  Take care!
