splits in skin won't heal compeltely

I have had splits in my skin on the edge of the pubic area and the buttocks crack.  They itch badly, then eventually open and hurt.  I have used various itch creams, antibiotic creams, and a prescription Clobetasol Proplonate.  The prescription is the only thing that helped and it totally heals - then a month or so later it starts itching and the cycle repeats.  This has been going on for 2 1/2 years.  I don't have other health problems other than arthritis.

Ocasionally these cracks or "splits" are a result of blood sugar that is out of control, although most doctors don't pick this up.  You need an HBa1c test.

I has something similar to this for a while and my doc recommended that I use Tucks pads.  She said to wipe with those and then leave one in my underware in the places that I had the problem.  Something with the witch hazel in the pads does the healing trick.  This is the only thing that cleared it up for me and I haven't had the problem since.  You may try that.  Good luck!
