swelling in feet/arms in 1 year old child

Hi,
I am wondering if any one knows anything about what can cause swelling in my son's hands and feet. This has been going on for about a week now and it is getting worse. My sons left foot is starting to turn a purplish red color and his fingers are starting to swell too. It gets worse as the week goes on. I have family history of Protein C Definency (blood clot disorder). We have also had an extremely hard time with his G.I tract along with severe acid reflux since birth. He goes through cycles of irriable, screaming, crying throwing him self on the floor along with diarrhea and vomiting episodes. We have tried watching his diet and keeping out items that acid reflux individuals can not have. He has been doing well (with a day or so here and there ) until this last week when the swelling started. He sleeps 20+ hours a day. We have also had issues with his developmental milestones such as language, gross motor, fine motor. He is not vocal unless screaming and crying is involved. He was behind on walking, sitting and standing with the help of help me grow he has achieved those milestones. The Ped. Doc my son sees, says she sees nothing wrong with this ( I haven't talked to her about the swelling yet due to the fact she has not helped with any of the other problems.) if anyone has any information on what we could do or try to help this please let me know.
Thanks.

Please find another doctor for your child.  It could be serious.  There could be a blood flow problem to his extremities.   Ask your new doctor about EDTA ointment to open the blood vessels.
    Wishing you the best.
