tremors, light headed, Headache, Fatigue, loss of balance, memory loss

About three months I started having syptoms of major tremors lightheadedness, Headache in front of my head, major fatigue speech problems and short term memory loss. I went to my famliy doctor who sent me to neoroligist he did a MRI which came out normal, and also a spinal tap testing for magnessium and M.S both came out fine. My Tremors are in my legs hands and head. My Neouroligst doesnt think it is parkinsons b/c I still have facial expressions and I dont have resting tremors which I think I do b/c when I lay down my heads still shakes side to side.He sent me to a Nose ears and throat Dr. for my light headedness he ran test and told me that it is not my ears that is causing the problems that it is the signal from the brain to the ear that may be the problem. Both doctors dont know what is wrong with me I am now out of work and stuck on what to do. If anyone can help point me in the right direction I would appericiate it.

My bf has been shaking violently every once in a while. Following that, he would sleep for a while and when he wakes up, he suffers with a headaches and can't remember anything that happens during that time. He always complain that he is tired and sleeps even though he already slept for 11 hours, he would wake up and feel very tired again. Yesterday, I noticed that unlike the other times, he started to hallucinate and act as if he was drunk. His eyes keeps rolling to the back of his head. He kept laughing and saying weird things.
I kept telling him to go to the doctor to check it out but he says his family doesn't have a history of seizures or anything like that.
Also, I wanted to ask if it is very costly to get all of the testing?

I am having alot more things going on since the last posting.Ended up with no immune system spent a week in the hospital, still unknown what caused that, they thought I had lukeimia but that aslo came back negative thank god. I am also hypoglycimic. I am still having test run b/c the seizures is not what is causing all my problems. Was tested for lupus and anumber of other illnesses anyway do to that  I have a really good nero now he explaines everything to me and also explained that they may never find the true cause to illiness bc the brain is still such a mystery but said he will try his best to find the problem and treat the symptoms I finally have a doc that doesnt think i am making everything up and finally having some test results come back find things. He has helped me to be able to have somewhat of a normal life still unable to go back to work and according to doc may never taht ***** well any way I will try to keep everyone posted. getting tired and having problems typing this have to keep going back to correct spelling lol brain isnt wrking like it use to LOL

Dear val4371,

I have the exact same symptoms, tremors, light headed, Headache, Fatigue, loss of balance, memory loss, etc.  After seeing 20 doctors/specialists, I found some answers.  IMHO, its a head trauma related CSF leak.  If you dont recall a head trauma, they can occur spontaneously also.  What happens is, you are leaking CSF somewhere - brain MRI would be normal, your brain sags and puts pressure on the lowest brain organ cerebellum (motor control center, hence the TREMORs).  The lightheaded and motion intolerance comes from the brain sagging and putting further pressure on the cerebellum.

Unfortunately, CSF leaks are difficult to cure, if they haven't cured already.  Take complete bed rest for 2 weeks, and then take it slowly thereafter.  Epidural Bloodpatches are also done to fix the CSF leaks with varying success.

IMHO, you have CSF leak, so did I.  Drink lots of fluid to replenish the CSF fluid, and take "horesetail" to help hasten the CSF leak recovery.

Good luck.

Hi im having  the same problems except my head and body pulsates it feels like i have a heart beat in my head and hands (pulsating) the doc tried to say i have small parkinsons but i disagree unless they give me facts to back it up, lately iv been getting alot of assumptions and it makes it hard for me to function at work and because of the tremors and headaches i had a mri and cat scan and they found nothin and most doctors act like they dont care i think this should be further investigated if i was not capable of functioning properly how would i be cured id probably be thrown in some home where they just feed me and give me some random meds so if anyone finds out let me know at ***@**** my name is arius by the way

thanks and have a blessed one

I've heard of sleep apnea causing alot of things but I don't recall the balance and tremor problems being part of it.  Have you had an overnite sleep study done?  If not, I don't think anyone can diagnose you with sleep apnea.  Just wondering - if I come across anything in my research that helps, I'll let you know. Take care

I am going to ask my Dr. to check me for lyme desease just to be on the safe side. Thank you for the suggestion. I am also being told That it might maganeese poisining (welders disease)if anyone out there knows about it if they can tell me how to get tested for it. The only thing I can find on the net is lawsuites about it and that is not what i am looking for. I want meds to get me better so I can go back to work. It wasnt maganeese that my doctor tested me for it was something else that sounds like it. Well anyway My neuro is refering me to one of the biggest neuro centers around here because they are stumped on what is going on with me. I will keep yall posted on what is going on and maybe my postings might help someone else.

Val, there has been people who have had Lymes disease for 2 years and did not know it. I do not know how long the tick was on me before I saw him. I'm in California, but Midwest has a lot of lymes.I walk with a cane or stager about, bouncing off walls, slurred speach, fatigue, an hour after getting up I go back to bed, I cannot remember yesterdays much at all, but do remember my life in general, I have aches in my legs arms and neck and shoulders along with head aches. Went through a period of tremors so bad my legs would shake, arms would curl up (muscle spasms) and my head would shake like one who has "tics" in fact thats how my whole body would jerk and spasm. took 21 days of Doxycline (pills) and now have had a pic line placed in my right arm into a main artery all the way to above my heart and have 2GM of Ceptriaxone (Generic for Rocephin) Injected daily, with flushings of saline before and after injections by a home nurse. Things have improved but Doctor says I may have Insephilitus, basically lyme disease made it into my brain, still have a long way to go and some just don't get 100% recovery. With out Treatment it can then infect the heart and I guess that is NOT good. Val I just wanted to share all my symptoms of Lymes with you just in case it prompts you to research it. Again you can have Lymes and it can avoid showing up in all test sometimes, and then with others it shows up. Just mention this to your Doctor..............Good luck & God Bless, RaSMaN

P.S. not trying to convince you that you have Lymes disease, but as I said, many have had it for long or short periods of time and did not know it and never recalled being bit by a tick.

I have actually suffered from about 99% of your symptoms and I an being treated for Lymes Disease. It is from being bit by a tick and you can have been bit without knowing it. it is very important to have it treated ASAP and the Dr's may only be able to diagnose you clinacally, as the titer's from the tick may not show up in any test. I was fortunate to have found the tick on me and its bite left a "target" looking mark about 3" diameter. I would definently seek out a infectious disease Doctor immediatly. hope this is of some help as I know how it feels, I have not been able to work for 2 months. also do a search online for Lyme disease and see if reading the articles helps you withtrying to figure out what is wrong with you.
                                 God Bless you, RaSMaN

also I have had a spinal tap and a MRI of my head and both came back normal (no M.S.) Lymes is hard to detect, and sometimes it just cannot be found at all except the syptoms, you sure sound like you have been expereincing exactlly what I have.
                                       Again, RaSMaN

IMO...You both need to have your thyroid rechecked...not only your TSH (which is the normal thyroid check) but also your free t-3 , free t-4, & thyroid antibodies for auto-immune disease. Many times a low normal TSH can be overlooked as normal when your thyroid hormones or antibodies can be elevated. The symptoms you describe esp. no1 grammie with your vision problems are classic hyperthyroid symptoms. The tremors are also big time thyroid. You need to have an extensive thyroid work up. Many times hyperthyroidism is misdiagnosed for years until symptoms are very evident.
You can exhibit some or all of these symptoms...

Symptoms of Hyperthryodisim (An overactive thyroid)
insomnia
nervousness
irritability
difficulty concentrating
memory loss/feeling of confusion
increased perspiration
hair loss
thinning of your skin
fine brittle hair
muscular weakness especially involving the upper arms and thighs
generalized weakness
fatigue even after sleeping
shaky hands
tremors
panic disorder
insomnia
racing heart/palpitations
short of breath with exertion
changes in vision
puffy eyes
more frequent bowel movements
weight loss despite a good appetite or wt. gain
lighter flow, less frequent menstrual periods for women
decreased libido

You both have named some of these symptoms. Be sure & get copies of all the tests you have had for further reference. Keep a file at home so it is available if you need to see a new physican. What appears normal or close to normal to one physican can be a reason for further investigation to another.
It's your right to have those test & xray, MRI, cat scan or special testing results & Dr's generally have no problems providing you with a copy. That way you have a reference for any physican you see.

God Bless & best wishes, TJ

Hi, I have the very same thing. The exact same symptoms. I had a hysterectomy this past Oct. and since then everything has gone wrong. I too have had MRI's, MRA's, numerous blood tests that tested for everything, seen 3 neurologist, ear, nose and throat Dr's, Vascular Dr, Eye Dr a total of 16 Dr's so far. No one can tell me whats wrong. I have since lost my job because of it. (I was a 911 dispatcher). I also have double vision and blurred vision. Its like I'm drunk all the time. I will keep on seeing Dr's until they find out the problem. Have you had any type of surgery? Just wondering. I don't have any advice, just read your post and had to reply. I wish you the best and if you ever find out what the problem is Please post. I will be watching and if I find out something I will post for you. Take care.   Tyra

Do you have thyroid checked? Hyperthyroid can cause tremor, fatigue, and lighthead, and short term memory loss. But I am not sure about loss of balance though.
