One doctor said I had IBS (which means he doesent have a clue) another doctor said it was because of stress and depresson. One said there was nothing wrong and his nurse laughed when I asked for a wheel chair to my car.(the pain was too much to walk) My Shrink says Im not crazy its not depression my symptions are phisical. I have had both upper and lower probes and nothing was found. Symptons: Pain in the upper stomach. Bloating that feels heavy and hard to the touch. A physical feeling of being full even when I havent eaten all day(though I am hungry I can not eat) And pain when I try and bend at the waist. Pain even when lying down unless pillows are used to prop up this basket ball in my stomach. Its like being preagnant only im 55 years old. Not knowing whats wrong is stressing me out even more. Please give me some ideas to research!!
Your symptoms are suggestive of early satiety(feeling of fullness even before completion of meals).
Causes for early satiety are gastritis, gastroparesis(delayed gastric emptying,a disorder in which the stomach takes too long to empty its contents),gastric outlet obstruction, heartburns due to acid reflux(GERD),irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes, hyperthyroidism ,cushing’s disease and rarely GI esp stomach tumors.
Other possibilities for your chronic abdominal pain and severe bloating are high salt intake, too little proteins in diet, food allergies, gallstones,H.pylori infestation, Functional abdominal pain syndrome (FAPS) and chronic pancreatitis.
In my opinion, pls discuss these possibilities with your gastroenterologist and get them ryled out one by one to reach a confirmatory diagnosis.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
