vomiting and diarrhea

Since I gave birth to my first child 4 1/2 months ago via c-section I have had epsiodes of vomiting and diarrhea.Several years ago I had the same problem but everything went aways once my gallbladder was removed. The episodes of vomiting and diarrhea last anywhere from hours to 2 days. I have recorded what I am eating to see if it is a food allergy but only thing i have found in the past week is butter makes me sick but not other dairy products. I went to a chiroprator that gave me a questionare about health sympotms and he recommeded me having my thyroid checked. I am thinking a food allergy, graves disease or pancreatitis. I am so miserable from being sick all the time I just want a diagnosis so I can begin to feel better again. I have also being precribed medicine to help with the diarrhea and cramping and I am taking probitics as well with still no improvement. Anybody else have the same problems

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Get your liver and pancreatic function assessed. If this is normal then inflammatory bowel conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis will need to be ruled out. Since you do not find any relation ship to food except butter, it is unlikely to be celiac disease. Get stool tested for parasitic infections like amoebiasis and giardiasis.
You may need to consult a GI specialist. Take care!

Hi, I have been having similar problems for the last 8 years. I could have a cup of tea in the morning and end up rolling around in pain, throwing up etc. - alcohol especially has always set my stomach off but also caffiene, milk, grease of any kind, sometimes it just happens if i get stressed. I've had diarrhea everyday for i cant remember how many years, my weight has always been a struggle and i too had my gallbladder removed in the end, they said it was diseased and that should have been the cause of the sickness and diarrhea but 5 years on and i dont remember my belly ever being normal yet. Ive spent the last week in hospital as i couldnt stop throwing up and got too dehydrated, they put it down to gastroenteritis and IBS etc but they have referred me back to the hospital as an outpatient as ive been in there for sickness and diarrhea so many times before. I have to go back to work tomorrow now and really not looking forward to it... Please let me know how you got on and if there is anything that has worked for you or helping you. I am currently on 3 types of anti sickness with Nexium 40 for acid reflux (not helping atm though)!
Hope it gets easier for you :)
