Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You need to replenish the Vitamin D—so the doctors will prescribe injections.
Common causes like overeating, lack of exercise, diabetes, hypothyroidism have to be ruled out in your case. You must then look for other causes. One is water retention due to low serum protein. This along with anemia can cause unexplained weight gain. Adrenal gland problems are the other cause. Cushing’s syndrome should be looked for. The kidney function too should be assessed. Late night snacking and poor sleep too can cause weight gain. Polycystic ovary (in females) too causes weight gain, hence has to be ruled out by an ultrasound of abdomen. Certain medications like antidepressants cause weight gain.
Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
I take 6000 units a day with D3.I also take flexoil dont no the size its in a mypill box i have it filled for a whole month.I had colon astopy 6 months ago i had pockets he said so to take fiber i do every morning.I see my doctor may 5 for follow up to see if vit d getting in my systom.Im 61 years old went from size 16 to 20 in 3 months.I go to a clinic cause i dont have insurance.
Has your doctor suggested taking Vit.D, if so follow his advice. If you are allergic to lanolin or animal skin proteins try taking fish liver oil capsules instead, as Vit. D3 is made from animal skin scrapings.
Also take Vit. C and Vit. B complex in higher doses for at least 6 months. Drink more water and add fiber to your diet, this could help your constipation. That is quite a weight gain in so short a time which could mean that your bowels are clogged up. Start adding fiber such as psyllium in small doses and slowly build up to recommended amounts.
Above all, talk to your doctor about what I have suggested before doing anything just in case there is something else going on inside your body.
