what is it

my body tempature seems to be off.  I saw an endochrinologist who told me it wasn't menopause, which I knew becz I had a complete hystorectomy 20 yrs ago.  I can be comfortable then get really cold.  In the middle of the night I get so hot I sweat and have to turn on a fan.  Sometimes with the fan on I still sweat.  My hands seem to shake a lot.  I am 52 yrs old and yes over weight.  I do have fibromyalgia but other then that am healthy.  I take no meds.  Thyroid is ok also.   What else could be causing this?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Since you have temperature fluctuations the first things to be ruled out are thyroid disorders, adrenal gland problems, anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, liver diseases, low Vit B12, and vasovagal attacks.
Get your FSH, LH, estrogen and progesterone, as you may need hormone replacement therapy as your uterus and ovary were removed.
Take care!

yes, my ovaries were taken.  I have had my adrenals tested and since the doctor hasn't called me, I assume the tests came back ok.

It sounds like your hormone levels are below normal. Some women who have had this operation forego taking hormones which is understandable because of the dangers that have been publized. To learn more about your problem look up Dr. John Lee on the internet. He has written a few books on Women and their health problems, one of them is : What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause. It is very enlightening and helpful.

Have you had your adrenals tested? Even though you had a hysterectomy over 20 years ago did you have your ovaries removed as well?
