Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Blood in semen or hematospermia can be due several causes like benign or malignant tumors of the prostate, bladder, testes, or seminal vesicles; infections like chlamydia, herpes, cytomegalovirus, and trichomoniasis; prostatitis (infection of prostate), epididymitis (infection of epidiymis), or urethritis; stone in the seminal vesicles or prostate, polyps in the urethra, obstructions in ejaculation-duct, and cancers of genitourinary system.
Usually the cause is prostate and is often due to a tear in one of the veins of the prostate (prostatic varices). For most men, hematospermia is not a serious or life-threatening condition. Nonspecific (without any cause)inflammation of the urethra, prostate and/or seminal vesicles is the commonest cause.
If there is a history of unprotected contact or leaking or burst condom, then you need to get a complete STD panel done. Get a culture sensitivity test for both semen and urine done.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor preferably an urologist. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Hope this helps. Take care!
