nikita510,
I don't mean to counterdict the previosu poster but please,
don't massage the area until you know what's causing the pain because if it's a blood clot causing the discomfort it could dislodge. Get it checked out first, ok.

hi i am a physiotherapy student.the cause of ur problem can not be known without a proper physical examination.
however, you can keep hot rubber water bottle(hydrocollator pack) over the area for about 15-20 minutes for relief.temperature should be just tolerable.
u can also massage on the area... thumb kneeding(pressing deep into the area with your thumb and drawing circles).this may be painful as the adhesions will break when u press in.but dis will give u a permanent relief if the spasm is purely muscular.get well soon.
Muscle spasms could me a lot of different things to a lot of different people. You mention that it is your arm. Sometimes a carpal tunnel syndrome can produce a discomfort that some describe as a spasm. Other possibilities would include pressure on a major nerve at the level of the elbow. Still other people can sometimes have an impingement of the blood vessels as they leave the shoulder and enter the arm. There is no real way to known without a physical exam by your physician.
