19 Urinary Tract Infections in 10 months

Please help!  I'm at my wit's end. Here's the pattern:  UTI, antibiotics, revisit after antibiotic and urine is clear, 5 days later another UTI. 19 times!!!!    I've had a renal ultrasound (normal), Cystoscopy (normal), bladder is emptying, many cultures (nothing unusual grows), I've been to my family doctor, my gynecologist, a urologist, and a urogynecologist.  They all say there is no reason this should be happening, but cannot figure out why it does.

I've tried 4 antibiotics, cranberry juice, cranberry pills, urinating before/after sex, 2 showers a day, wiping front to back--all the usual stuff.

Anyone have any ideas of what to suggest to my doctors?  or a different specialist to go to?  No one is giving me any help!!!!!

thanks

Forgot.  Give it a week to see results but don't stop taking it.  I took the full amount for one month and now I take 3 a day always.  NO MORE BLADDER INFECTIONS!  Hard to believe I know but I haven't had one for months.  Before that no antibiotic, cranberry or everything else I took did anying.  In desperation I tried this and it is like having a new life.  Linda

This may sound crazy but buy marshmallow root by Nature's Way.  Take full amount 2, 3x's daily and give it a week.  Like you I suffered and nothing worked until this.  I haven't had one since.  Believe and give it a try, it will change your life.  Linda

Sorry to read of your problem.  Patients that have recurrent UTI symptoms with negative cultures do not have true Urinary Tract Infections.  What they often do have is  termed Interstitial Cystitis or Painful Bladder syndrome.  This is a painful condition of  Urinary Bladder Inflammation and is often thought to be a urinary tract infection.  .  There are some patients that get intermittent flares of bladder inflammation as well. The diagnosis is one of exclusion of other causes of pain and a screening questionnaire may be helpful.
