Cervical Biopsy Procedure

I was told by my ob/gyn that I needed to have a cervical biopsy done.  He explained that he could do the procedure in his office and all I would need to take for discomfort is Motrin.  Is the pain only a mild discomfort?  Is there anything I should be aware of concerning this?

I have had this done twice.  It is very unpleasant.  Motrin does not cut it.  If you have not had it done yet, I advice to go under general.  My 2nd procedure, I had done just that and they were able to find more... I had endometriosis of the cervical canal.  They would have not been able to detect this if it were a quick biopsy in the office.  I have HPV as well.
Good Luck.
