Hi,

Hi,

I can certainty understand your frustration. Interstitial Cystitis can be a very frustrating condition for both patient and doctor.   I have seen numerous patients in my practice that have essentially tried everything without success.

I would encourage you to discuss your treatment options with your physician and would refer you to the information contained here on MedHelp on my blog page.  I have written a 3-part blog on Interstitial Cystitis that should help you determine where you are with regards to treatment options.

If, after reviewing the information, you find that you have tried most of the treatment options discussed, consider looking into Neurmodulation, InterStim.  I have had encouraging results in treating patient who have not responded to other therapies.

I hope you find the information helpful and good luck.

I Cher, I too was diagnose with IC in 2008.  It is a tricky disease that one.  Have you had any surgeries that would account for the pain?  Did you try Hydroxyzine by any chance. I'm sorry you have to deal with this and there is no easy answer.  Do you have ulcers in your bladder, have you tried instillations? I personnaly have not used elmiron or instillations because my URO doesn't believe in them, so curious if you have tried them.
