I don't know what is wrong with me?

Hi, please can you help me. I am so desperately unhappy.  I had a baby in November 07. A latent phase of a week, episiotomy + large forceps.  Baby 8lbs I'm 5.1 ft. Had mild prolapse.  Top vaginal wall came down, bladder with it + cervix little low.  Nothing came out of vagina.  Told prolapse returned up but since Nov 07 had below symptoms.  Saw specialist FEb 08, HRT cream due to v low eostrogen; atrophic vaginitus.  I went back and said the following symptoms remained and he told me go away, give it time.  I can't give it time anymore time.  I am so depressed.

Been tested for UTI at GP about 6 times, neg. Don’t know when I need to wee, feel lI have a full bladder constantly so push on bladder to tell. Can feel sore at urethral opening when wee. Flow is fine, can pass lge amounts. 1ST thing in morning feel fine, then as soon as wee, bladder aches, Cystitus burning feeling in my urethra and the whole cycle starts again.

• Feels like I’m aggravated by my urine and the action of weeing.

• Had lower back ache.

• Sitting seems to aggravate vaginal area, standing feels better.

• I feel like I can NEVER relax because I always feel like I need to wee.

• Some of tissue areas around vaginal opening feel tender.

• Had sex, it hurt around the opening at the top, where bladder is.

• Go to loo and feel straight away need loo again: like a full bladder

• Burning like cystitis constantly

• Tried HRT cream for Atrophic Vaginitus, no difference felt at all

• Urethra sore to touch.

• Alcohol and caffeine aggravate me more.

• Sitting agravates, standing better.

• Get worse with stress.

• Tried taking sodium citrate first couple of months – helped for a while, stopped helping.

• I don’t tend to go at night unless I have drunk too much before bed time and then I will wake half way through the night and go.

• If I don’t drink lots of water, urine stings + hot

Please can anyone help - I'm v desperate

Mild prolapse should not be causing such intense bladder symptoms. Your symptoms also sound like those of the overactive bladder syndrome, where you have the constant urge to urinate. THe pain part may be related to active trigger points in your pelvic floor muscles. So, your symptoms may result from multiple issues. Therefore it makes sense for you to see a fellowship trained urogynecologist, who can diagnose the problem and offer solutions to address all parts of your problem.

Hi, I also had a "mild" prolapse which in time has turned into a real bothersome problem.
Especially when sitting.  I urge you to see a reconstructive surgeon and get their input because left untreated it will get worse. Gravity always prevails.
Good luck!

I would find a fellowship trained urogynecologist and get a second opinion. I just had what was called "mild" to "moderate" prolapses fixed laparoscopically and am now 3 1/2 weeks post op and that was the BEST decision I ever pushed for. I know a lot of dr.'s seem to think that mild prolapses don't have symptoms that could possibly ruin someones quality of life but I am living proof that they did and now that they're fixed I feel so much better. Get a dr. who is qualified but also one that will listen to what you want.
