Yeast Infection HELP!!!

Hi, Im a little embarressed to go see my Gynecologist. Im 16, not sexually active, and I think I have a yeast infection. I looked it up and I have all the symptoms. I've had them for years, since I was like 10 or younger but never really thought it was irregular it was just itching. But It got worse during puberty, I was still itchy but my discharge is cottage cheesy or whatever. I looked up other things too, it has never been fishy-smelly. But I do get acne down there every once in a while, and also I have a white spot on my foot, and legs, and if I look very closely my legs are kind of spotted white. I have a few spots on my hips and my entire vagina is white. Ive been able to deal with it for years, since I read it's not harmful. But I've become FED UP! My clit is swollen & skin around my vagina is wearing down to the point where it hurts to just touch it. Will a simple, over the counter treatment help, or will that not work? Any suggestions? Could I become infertile?

I'm suprised that the doc doesn't check in here more often.  Some other resources to check out for info,   vulvodynia.com,   and 2 yahoo groups for wome with similar problems,   vulvar disorders and happy pelvis.

The fact that your vagina/vulvar area is white makes me suspect lichen planus or something similar.  There is a bunch of info on the web about that to.

Don't give up.  Finding the right treatment and the following recovery may be a slow process.

You need to see a gyn who specializes in chronic pelvic conditions. What you are experiencing is beyond just a yeast infection.  Start by going to your regular gyn.  Don't delay and suffer any longer. You need to get to the bottom of this. It may not make you infertile, but your pain can lead to a painful difficult to treat chronic condition called vulvodynia.
