Thank you for your reply. I doubt any clots as she was on Coumadin when the bloody urine started. So this could just be a side effect of the stone. And will she continue to have bloody urine until the stone passes. How long does that normally take.

When we have got the evidence of a stone in the urinary tract and there’s a history of blood in urine, then this should be entertained as the first and foremost possibility of the same. However, other possibilities also should also be looked for. She might need further tests like a cytoscopy to ensure everything is fine in the urinary bladder. Please ask her to drink lots of water as that will not only ensure in the stone coming out but also prevent the deposition of any clot within the urinary tract due to the bleeding.
