Hi,
Calcium oxalate stones are the most kind of kidney stones.
These can occur in the dihydrate or monohydrate form.
The dihydrate form is yellow or light in color and is easier to fragment.
The monohydrate form is black or brown in color and is harder and more difficult to fragment.
It is good that these stones passed without intervention.
Do ensure that you pay particular attention to fluid intake, avoid irritants such as black pepper and beer, and reduce protein in diet (especially barbecued meat and cheese).

i didnt get them out the toilet but they didnt appear big, but did look blackish...any suggestions on that?
Hi,
It could be that your pain was due to a renal stone passing down the ureter.
The good part is that the stone seems to have passed with minimal damage and the possibility of any infection along the tract that could have been induced by its passing is minimized in view of the antibiotics you have been on.
The downside is that renal stones tend to recur with the duration of recurrence varying for different individuals.
You will need to ensure that you keep your fluid intake over 2000 ml, avoid tea, coffee, and alcohol, and maintain a diet high in calcium and low in sodium to minimize chances of stone recurrence.
Do post here for any further information you may require.

well, today while using the restroom, i had a pause while urinating and passed what looked to be like a lil rock sorta thing, and then 3 seconds laters a smaller one came out and after using the bathroom 2 more times today, the pain has subsided and is probly on a scale from 1-10 as being a 2, down from a 9.
Hi,
You could have an infection that is resistant to ciprofloxacin.
You will need to have a urinalysis done to identify the causative organism and a culture sensitivity to diagnose the antibiotic that it is sensitive to.
Burning sensation in the lower abdomen could be due to a bladder infection or prostate infection.
Antibiotics may kill the normal flora in the intestines and can cause some amount of bowel disturbance.
You can consult your urologist to change the antibiotics and to further identify the cause of the problem.
Meanwhile,
Keep fluid intake in excess of 2000 ml per day
Add yoghurt and natural fiber to the diet.
Avoid sticky foods and prostate irritants, such as citrus fruits, caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods.
Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
