Creamy white vaginal discharge after Clotrimazole & during UTI

I took Clotrimazole for a supposed yeast infection that was later diagnosed as a urine infection and was prescribed Cloranphenicole as my family doctor did not have Microdantine at the time (Friday night) and I was feeling very badly (I live in a small, very remote community and had to take what was at hand). I noticed I have a smoothe, creamy, white paste in my vagina, not like cottage cheese and it doesn't smell funny or itch. (By the way, I am two weeks away from my next period). I have never experienced this before (that I have noticed). Is it residue from the Clotrimazole? Is it a side effect of the antibiotics? Is it an incipient yeast infection from the antibiotics? Is it possible to develop a yeast infection from the antibiotics only days after you've take a one dose suppository of 500mg of Clotrimazole? What is that white paste??!! I'm supposed to start my Micradantine treatment today now that its Monday and the only pharmacy in town will be open. I know some women have reported yeast infections after taking antibiotics such as Microdantine, should I continue taking 100 mg suppositories of Clotrimazole during the Microdantine treatment even if I'm not sure I about the whole yeast infection episode? I am kind of concerned about all these different meds and what's going on down there... (I did self-medicate the first time, with the 500 mg Clotrimazole suppository before I was diagnosed with Cystitis or UTI).

yes many women develop yeast infections while on antibiotics due to the fact that the antibiotics not only kill the bad bacteria but they kill the good bacteria as well, which then allows the ph balance to go out of balance. It is recommended in order to prevent yeast over growth from antibiotics to take a probiotic an hour or so after antibiotic to re-establish the good bacteria withing the urinary tract...this should prevent the yeast from taking strong hold in the area. If you already have a yeast over growth you can try apple cider vinegar to help balance things back out...if it is too far out of control definitely see your dr. to get it back under control and then in the future if you take antibiotics always take probiotics as well...and adding a big for apple cider vinegar to your diet is helpful if you are prone to yeast issues. Good luck and let us know how things turn out!
